Valserine is not good at talking about her. More talkative in writing than orally, more comfortable in her studio and behind her screen than in the light, she will nevertheless answer this schizophrenic interview.

- Your name is Valerie Marchal, right ? Yes.

- Then who is Valserine ? That is me, too. Valserine is the little name given by my godmother when I was a child. I think it is a perfect artist's name.

- How old are you ? 57 years old.

- Where do you live ? In Castanet a small country village in the Tarn et Garonne. France.

- Where do you work ? At home. I have a large workshop that overlooks a small courtyard, perfect for loading my car when I go to the artists' markets.

- Do you own a shop ? No, that is why my Online Glue Note Little shop is so important to me.

- Are there any "physical" shops where we can see your creations ? Not yet actually ; I am not very good at door-to-door either, but I learn and opportunities are starting to come up.   My Facebook page  announce these events.

- Did you go to Art School ? No. I regret it ; I did not know what I wanted to do when I was young, I preferred to write poems rather than think about this. I would have liked to go to the conservatory too. In fact I am a pure self-taught ...

- Why collages ? Because my imagination is full of images that I cannot draw. Collage allows me to overcome this flaw and make it a strength. And collage is a beautiful art, an art of living memory.

- How long have you been in business ?  I started at the end of winter 2015 and then declared myself as a self-employed entrepreneur on April 1, 2017 at the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Montauban.

- Can you show us your face ?

I do not have such a slim waist in real life - photomontage miracle - but the face and neckline are mine.

- Anything to add ? To complete this small portrait you may also read my Manifesto.

"Me, myself and I" is a reference at the famous Billie Holliday's song
